Our story

SkinSense is the brainchild of Abi Cleeve who introduced award winning Swiss suncare brand Ultrasun to the UK over 20 years ago. Utilising her in-depth knowledge of once-a-day sunscreens, Abi harnessed the same ground breaking lamellar technology to create SkinSense. Lamellar structures are composed of fine, alternating layers that form an even bond with the skin and an invisible film around the active ingredient. This ‘suit of armour’ delivery system not only protects precious ingredients but supports the penetration and action of active ingredients into the skin so they work throughout the day – achieving results that you can see and feel. 

 “For over two decades I have been working with the latest technological advancements in skincare. At Ultrasun, lamellar technology allowed us to achieve long-lasting UVA and UVB protection. This was when I questioned, why can't we do exactly the same to lock in hydration, targeted skin strengtheners and highly active ingredients into our skin? This was my lightbulb moment and the point at which I started developing SkinSense. The range sold out within the first week of launch and I'm still just as passionate about providing solution based skincare and ultimately skin confidence for my customers".
